Sheila Fleet Jewellery has released an exclusive collection of Scottish gold designs online in time for the peak Christmas season.
For the first time, customers will have the opportunity to purchase online a select few pieces of the firm’s jewellery made from 18 karat Scottish gold as opposed to being made-to-order.
Sheila Fleet is reportedly one of two jewellers in the world with access to Scottish gold from the Cononish gold mine.
The rings and pendants listed online are the last available pieces made from the initial batch of gold which the company secured from the mine in 2017 and 2018. The company suggested it does not expect to receive any more until April 2021.
Martin Fleet, managing director for Sheila Fleet Jewellery, said, “While we have been operating on a made-to-order basis with Scottish Gold, we did make a few pieces to display in our shops. With many customers now turning to online shopping we have now made these available online in time for Christmas.
“They are the final pieces customers can get from the original trial batches of gold. We have worked closely with all stakeholders to get to this point, a process that has taken approximately 12 years.”
He added: “It’s been a long wait but worth it. On 30 November 2020 it was exciting for ScotGold to announce their first pour of commercially mined gold after working carefully over the past year to install a new processing facility on site where they can melt the gold ready for refining.
“We look forward to making many more beautiful pieces of jewellery with Scottish Gold in 2021.”
